Saturday, June 9 Swim/Dive Team Picnic immediately following Time Trials. (Time trials end at 11:30 AM) Each family brings a pot-luck dish and spends the afternoon following time trials relaxing and getting to know one another. Swimming, diving, volleyball, and other activities are available. Saturday, June 23 High School / Teen Lock-In A chance for team building and fun for our teens. Spend a chaperoned overnight stay at the pool. Activities include midnight water polo, smore’s, and plenty of team provided snacks. Attendees should bring their own tent. Registered swimmers and divers who will be attending High School in the fall of 2007 are eligible to attend. Monday, June 25 Team Fun/Raft Night & Ice Cream Party 6PM – 9PM The pool is reserved for registered swimmers and divers who get to bring inflatable rafts, floats, fins or inner tubes and go wild in the pool. The team will provide ice cream, and if we are lucky – hot fudge ! Younger swimmers must be supervised by their parents, Thursday, July 19 Team Breakfast of Champions Following the last full practice, the team celebrates with breakfast at the pool. Menu to be determined, but expect scrambled eggs or pancakes and other traditional breakfast fare. Open to all swimmers and divers to share a hot meal after a hard practice. Friday, July 20 Pre-Team Meet Pre-teamers will participate in a fun swim meet in the following events. Freestyle, Freestyle with kickboard, Backstroke and Backstroke with Kickboard. Participating local pools are expected to be Flower Valley, Manor Country Club, and Manor Woods. All are encouraged to attend and root on our beginning swimmers. Saturday, July 21 Swim and Dive Team Banquet The banquet begins with a delicious meal at Earle B. Wood Middle School. Each family contributes a side dish, dessert, or drink to supplement a main course provided by the team. Trophies are presented to all who have participated in at least one meet, as well as high point awards for top scoring swimmers and divers. This year, the fun ‘paper plate’ awards, senior swimmer recognition, and a slide show will also occur at Earl B. Wood to avoid worries about rain and make it easier for our younger swimmers and divers to participate in these season highlights. Time & Weather permitting – older swimmers and divers can adjourn to the pool afterwards for a game of Beaver or Water Polo. |
