Contact the chairperson of the committee of interest to volunteer if one is noted. Otherwise, email the listserve, or contact one of the team representatives to get involved. Every family is expected to volunteer for multiple activities. After Home Meet Refreshments Committee: Schedule volunteers to provide a simple lunch after the Saturday morning home meets. Pick a food, get the food, make sure you have plates, napkins, drinks, set a price to cover costs, collect money, reimburse yourself. (Our usual is pizza and soda, but we have branched out to hot dogs and soda on occasion.) Automation: This committee will run the computer program at each swim meet, print out each week’s “A” Team entries, and keep a running account of the swimmers’ times. (chairperson: Julie Mazur) Banquet Committee: This committee is responsible for the planning and execution of the end of season swim/dive team banquet. Make sure the facility is rented, set the menu, setup, decorate, set an agenda, print programs, assist trophy people, coordinate food and drink servers, and assist slide show A/V setup. Bulletin Board/Communications: This committee is in charge of keeping the bulletin board at the pool up to date with announcements, meet results, etc. It is responsible for putting up posters at the pool for various activities. End of Year Team Breakfast Committee: Coordinate the preparation and serving of a team breakfast at the pool after the last full team practice of the season. Older swimmers cook, but the committee has to set a menu, buy supplies, setup, and make sure we have the necessary grills, and hot plates to do the cooking. This is a very popular event, but probably requires the most planning and coordination of all our social activities. Friday Night Pot Luck Committee: Make sure there are paper goods, plastic utensils and ice at our pot luck dinners that follow the spirit activities every Friday before swim meets during the season. Arrange tables and food, monitor serving, and make sure the area is cleaned up afterwards. Fun-Night/Raft Night Committee: Organize ice cream buffet at the annual raft night when pool is closed to the public. Duties include buying everything, organizing servers, setup/cleanup, and staying within budget. Nobody is stopping you from showing a movie, or organizing other activities too! Officials: This subcommittee is responsible for supplying the officials from our team as needed for each meet. These may include the referee or starter, one or two stroke and turn judges, timers, scorers, clerk of course, announcer, ribbon writers, and publicity recorder. (Chairperson: Doug Noll) Pool Decoration and Set up/Clean up: This subcommittee is responsible for setting up chairs for spectators, roping-off areas for teams, setting up lane numbers, setting up the clerk of course table and benches, the scorers’ awning and two (2) tables, backstroke flags, starter machine, time display boards, and the swimmers’ awning, if needed, before each home meet. After the meet, this subcommittee makes sure that everything is put away and cleaned up. All parents and swimmers are expected to help with clean up. Photography: Members of this committee take photographs throughout the season and provide photographs to create the slide show. Pre-Team Meet: This committee is responsible for the coordination (with coaches) and execution of a Pre-Team Swim meet. Refreshments: This subcommittee is responsible for coordinating refreshments for the timers and officials at all home meets. It is also in charge of ordering donuts for Thursday mornings following each "B" meet. Service Hours: Swimmers may earn service hours by helping out the Manor Woods Swim Team in a variety of ways. Interested swimmers should contact a Swim Team Committee Member. The A Rep is the authorized signer of the SSL forms. (Chairperson: Linda Noll) Teen Lock In Committee: Assist social rep and head coach with planning and execution. Includes coordinating evening snacks, activities, and a simple breakfast. Check-in kids, and ensure event is properly chaperoned by MW parents and adult coaches. Note - parents of kids NOT attending encouraged to chaperone. Trip to Six Flags Committee: The MCSL league gets exclusive use of the Six Flags Park one weekday morning during the swim season. This committee gathers names of all attending, collects money, and gets the bulk tickets from the local MCSL contact and distributes to attendees. Sets ride & chaperone policy.
