Coaching Staff Swim Team Coaches have a profound impact on our children. They not only have the responsibility of getting the swimmers in good physical condition, but they are also responsible for teaching them self-discipline, good sportsmanship, and how to work together as a team. For these reasons, the Swim Team Reps believe that the selection of coaches is the most important job they perform for the swimmers and parents. Coaches are selected through a comprehensive interview process. The Swim Team Committee believes that we have selected a coaching staff that will meet the high standards we have established for Manor Woods. Raienne South, Head Coach (rs44709@students.salisbury.edu) Raienne will be returning for her seventh year at Manor Woods and third year as head coach. Raienne’s enthusiasm and experience will continue to benefit the Manor Woods team. Raienne has swum since she was five years old, and still swims competitively at the college level. She has coached since she was 11, and she has also worked with the Upper County pool, Joe Flaherty’s Dolphins, Inc. and the RMSC Clinics. This will be my second year coaching the Manor Woods Terrapins! Coaches-in-Training Paul Kitsoulis Coaches are happy to answer your questions but not during practices! We require our coaches to devote their full attention and concentration on meeting the needs of the swimmers. Interruptions, even short ones, make it very difficult to run the practice in a professional manner. Coaches will normally be available for discussions with parents after practices or by email or telephone. Coaches’ policies and decisions are based on their experience and directives from the Team Reps. If you have a concern, please take these matters privately to the Head Coach or the Team Reps. As in all sports, coaches must make decisions to meet the team’s best interest. Based on the guidelines presented in the section titled "A" Team Meets, the final meet line-up and make-up of relay teams are solely at the coaches’ discretion. Note on E-mail: Please speak directly to the coaches if your swimmer cannot make a meet and note it in the log in the pool office. Please do not just e-mail the information. |
