Swim The Bay - The Manor Woods Way! Swim The Bay Without The Jellyfish!!! Swim across the Chesapeake Bay in the comfort of our own Manor Woods Pool. Open to all members! Download and complete the participation form and return it to the guard office. Keep your tracking sheet at home.

The 2011 dues invoice contained four proposed changes to the bylaws that were submitted to permanent members for balloting.  The following are the results of the balloting:

1.        Proposal to modify Article III, Section I to restore the Rock Creek Townhomes community and land east of Rockville High School upon which new townhomes are bring developed to the membership boundaries” - 109 for; 12 against - PASSED

2.        Proposal to modify Article IV, Section 3 to increase the additional fee assessed on dues not paid by May 1st from $25 to $75 - 88 for; 34 against - PASSED

3.        Proposal to modify Article V, Section 5 to include restricting the consecutive years a permanent member may become inactive to 2. Full dues will be required the subsequent year. Requests for exemption to the policy must be submitted to the pool board of directors no later than March 1st of the year in which full dues would be required - 58 for; 62 against - FAILED

4.        Proposal that should an applicant accept the offer of permanent membership, the fee will be applied to the price of the membership. Should the applicant decline the offer of permanent membership, the fee will be forfeited and the applicant will be removed from the waiting list - 98 for; 18 against - PASSED

Accordingly, changes 1, 2 & 4 will be made to the bylaws.  These changes will become effective with the 2012 membership year.  The proposed change to limit the number of consecutive years that a membership may be reduced will not be implemented, and there will not be any limitation on releasing permanent memberships.
